The family support strand of the Balanced System is about helping parents, carers and families be confident and well informed to support their child's development of understanding, talking and communication and to find out more if they are worried about any of these areas.

You will find information, advice, guidance and support that you can direct families towards to help them feel more confident that they know how to encourage their child's development of understanding, talking and communicating.  Family Support resources will include leaflets, videos, information sessions that you can signpost to, as well as pointers to useful websites and even TV programmes that have been specially produced.  If they are worried about how their child is developing these skills and want more detailed information they will be able to find it here as well and you may also want to go to suggest the identification or workforce strands for local contact information.
